The sister of one of the victims of the Charleston, SC shootings said, “we are the family that love built. We have no room for hate, so we have to forgive.”

The husband of another victim urged the shooter to repent and accept Christ as his savior.  He said, “I forgive you and my family forgives you.”

These people definitely showed the love of Christ by forgiving the shooter of their loved ones.  How wonderful this is!

We may not have to forgive someone for shooting a family member (or maybe you do) but everyday we have the choice to forgive.  We have the choice to love.

A lot of people are mad at someone and have been for a long time.  Maybe they have been mad for so long they don’t even remember why they aren’t talking to the person.

Today is the day to forgive.  Today is the day to let it go.  If the sister can forgive the killer of her brother and the husband can forgive the killer of his wife, in christian love, we can surely forgive ANYTHING less!  Your life is built on love.  There is no room for hate.  We have to forgive.

Jesus said it.  He meant it.  Paul repeated it.  Colossians 3:13 – “Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another.  Forgive as the Lord forgave you.”

Give it up today.  Whatever IT is.  Show mercy like Christ showed mercy and like the people in Charleston, SC are showing mercy.  You can do it.  God wants to help you.  Just let Him and live in freedom.
