Hurry up and wait!

*That is how rush hour traffic feels.
*That is how Christmas shopping the day after Thanksgiving feels.
*That is how going into labor to have a baby feels.

Our lifestyle is based almost completely on time!  We want to make the most of the 24-hours we have in a day.  We want to make the most of the 7 days we have in a week. We want to make the most of the 30 or so days we have in a month. And we want to look back at New Year’s Eve and see that we made the most of the last 12 months.

If things aren’t going the way we want or in the time frame we want, we tend to take things into our own hands and get them “back on track”.  How many times have you thought things weren’t going the way they should be or in the time frame they should be, so you decided to take matters into your own hand and “fix them”?  Did it turn out okay?  Or did the matter turn out badly and you wish you wouldn’t have tried to fix things?

God is in control of all things.  Romans 8:28 (NIV) says “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him……”   Time is a protection.  God knows we can’t handle everything we think we can handle.  Therefore, He allows time to be a protection for us.

So why don’t you take off your watch, put hurry in the back seat and wait to see what God is going to do!  It’s gonna be awesome!
