Yesterday was my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary!  Fifty years of marriage is a long time and it hasn’t always been easy but they are stronger than ever in their marriage after 50 years.

The secret is to keep Christ in the center of your marriage.  But my mom said they have also had to keep patience and love and kindness in the center of their marriage as they worked through the trials over the years.

This is the Day the Lord Has Made – Now Straighten Up and Enjoy It!

Yesterday we went to our daughter’s white coat ceremony for the Doctorate of Physical Therapy program at her college.  It was a wonderful ceremony and a great day of fun with her and her roommates and their parents and our family.

The Ship is Safe in the Harbor

The ship is safe in the harbor.  But ships weren’t meant to stay in the harbor.

We feel safe when we are in comfortable surroundings – like the ship in the harbor.  We feel safe when we are at church.  We feel safe when we are around our Christian friends.  We feel safe in a routine.  We feel safe with the familiar.  But God didn’t create us to stay safe in the harbor.

Average is Average.

I saw a commercial last night that caught both my attention and my daughter’s attention.  At the end of it, we both said, “that was g-o-o-o-o-d!”
