Today’s post may seem a little whiney but hang with me.  It’s me being very real.  Very authentic.  Very tired.  Very overwhelmed.  Everything I’m doing is good stuff, but this morning I woke up feeling like if I didn’t get a life preserver soon, I was going to drown.

I am a very positive person and keep going and going and doing because I love it.  But today with that knot in my throat and tears threatening to escape my eye balls, I realize that I have to reprioritize.  As I was trying to decide which work project to do first, which Bucket Buddies bucket order to place next, and what daily blog and instagram post to create, I realized that my life preserver was sitting on the table.

I read my devotions every morning, but I rush through them so that I can go to get the next thing done that someone is waiting on from me.  I keep dog paddling in the water trying to keep my head above the waves all the while the life preserver is by my side.

My Bible.  Not the one-minute devotionals (which are very good) but the deeper reading, the deeper study, the life saver that never changes yet always has all the answers.  Today I have to grab the life preserver before I go under.

Are you treading water today?  Are you feeling overwhelmed – like you’re drowning in work, laundry, meetings, other people’s requests, worry, loneliness, anger?  Hold out your hand and reach for the life preserver.  I promise the Lifeguard is always on duty and ready to save your life.

Isaiah 43:1-2 -But now, this is what the LORD says– he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.  When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.
