Matthew 5;14 – You are the light of the world.  A city on a hill cannot be hidden.

We did it with your help!  One hundred and one buckets were delivered to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital Monday.  My friend and our daughters drove to Memphis, TN and delivered the buckets to the hospital.  It was a great day to see how God used these buckets to bring a smile to the face of a child; to bring a little HAPPINESS to their day!

I watch these children in wheelchairs and wagons, with masks covering their faces and hats covering their heads; some losing their hair and some running around with no hair.  All were there for a common purpose – to find HOPE.

And St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital gives HOPE for so many cancer patients.  This hospital is a light to a patient’s world.  It is a city on a hill that shines brightly and cannot be hidden.

They are making strides in finding cures and saving lives but it costs over 1 million dollars a day to keep it going because patients do not have to pay for anything.  Lodging, food, and treatments are all free.  When you reach St. Jude’s Hospital, patients are looking for HOPE and those doctors, employees and volunteers are there to help those patients find that HOPE.

We need to pray everyday for the patients, doctors, employees and volunteers at St. Jude’s.  They are a beacon of light – a beacon of HOPE to all who visit and we need to pray for that to continue.

I thank God everyday for HOPE.  I thank God that He allowed me this opportunity to make a very tiny difference in a child’s life.  I thank God for people who have supported our mission through resources and prayers.  I thank God for HAPPINESS – as He allowed us to experience the children’s smiles.  I thank God for HOPE – as He showed us what St. Jude’s can do for these children.  I thank God for HEAVEN – a place of hope and happiness combined.

As you go throughout your day today, look around for something that gives you happiness, and something else that gives you hope, and then thank heaven above for it all!
