Mowing. Trimming. Raking.
Tugging. Pulling. Weeding.
Planting. Watering. Mulching.
Sweating. Sitting. Resting.

Taking care of lawns and landscaping is hard work.  Especially when it is so hot during the summer months.  And then if you’re like me, you try to fit one more thing in your day and race around like a mad woman.  And I hate to sweat.  All that running around, hurrying and trying to make things perfect is exhausting.  (Thankfully my husband does most of the hard landscaping and mowing.)

But when we work out in the hot sun, it’s important to rest.  It’s important to let someone take a turn and help us in this sweaty job.  It’s important to take a break.

Life gets like that sometimes.  We work and work to make a situation right.  We beg God for direction and answers to our prayers.  We unknowingly manipulate where we can, tugging and pulling trying to get the weeds out.  We work so hard we are physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually exhausted.  God allows us to keep going until we recognize that we need a break.  Then He steps in to take over.

As I was driving home from work and praying, I gently felt Him say to me, it’s time to take a break.  I’ve got this and you need to rest.  Do you need to take a break from the worry and stress of all of your fretting and worrying and working for the wrong things?  Do you need to let God take over while you rest a while?

Exodus 14:14 – The Lord will fight for you; you need only be still.

Take a break.  Let God take over for a while.  Get a cold glass of lemonade, sit back and watch Him work.   I guarantee the results will be beautiful.
