As I was going through my craft room recently and cleaning and decluttering, I found a few projects I had started and never finished.  Have you ever started a project and got sidetracked or realized it was going to take a lot longer than you thought so you put it aside for another time?

I found scrapbooks that I had started and never finished.  I found cross-stitch projects, decoupage projects, canvas painting projects and Christmas card projects.  They were all very nice ideas and definitely have potential to still be completed and given as a gift.

A few weeks ago I was having a bad day and kind of down on myself.  I had gained 3 pounds at Weight Watcher’s weigh-in that day and I had only gained less than a half a pound the whole four and a half months I had been on the program!  The devil had got in my head and was telling me that I was worthless and not good at anything, blah blah blah.  You know how he does!  And then Madissa’s song, UNFINISHED came on the radio.

The few lines in the song are:

But I picked myself back up
And I started telling me
No, my God’s not done
Making me a masterpiece
He’s still working on me
He started something good and I’m gonna believe it
He started something good and He’s gonna complete it
So I’ll celebrate the truth
His work in me ain’t through
I’m just unfinished

And then I realized the devil’s words in my head were just captured by God and He reminded me that I am like the cross-stitch and the scrapbook projects that I had found a few months ago.  I am a work in progress and He’s not finished with me yet.  I will not be made perfect until I am in heaven.  So until then, I need to pick myself back up, quit feeling sorry for myself and work a little harder.

I lost those 3 pounds that I gained the next week but I realized this weight loss journey, this learning how to be a better Christian and this worry journey that I am on every day is a process and God’s not finished yet.  You and me together….keep fighting the good fight; keep fighting the devil’s schemes; keep fighting the ways of the world.  God’s working.  We’re just Unfinished!
