What a great few days I’ve had on this Year of 55 week.
I’ve decided my word for the year will be PEACE.
As I was heading to a friend’s house to deliver dinner to her and her family, I experienced that PEACE.
I looked to the right and saw them. Grazing in the field.
Four beautiful deer.
I stopped right there on that county road. No one in front of me. No one behind me.
I backed up a few feet to meet them – eye to eye.
I rolled down the window and pulled out my phone and they posed. Yes, it looked like they actually posed for the pictures. Not a worry in the world. Just a look. A smile. And then back to enjoying each other’s company.
I probably sat there for 2-3 minutes just watching them. In silence. Experiencing peace.
Simple.
But a day of peace in the Year of 55.
It was a great way to start the week that included a relaxing massage and a long overdue lunch with an old friend.
It’s only day eight but God has already filled my start of the Year of 55 with a lot of peace.
Relaxing. Intentional. God-inspired. Peace.
I hope you can find the peace that God has waiting for you. It’s there. You just have to look around. Search for it. You may just find it face to face… staring back at you…through the eyes of a couple “deer” friends. 🙂
Just experienced that same peace this morning when I turned off of SR 46 to detour through Brown County State Park. I also found some “deer” friends who posed for me. I am still contemplating my word for the year. “trust” was my word last year. But, like you, I have written down “peace” many times in the last two weeks, so that might be it. Stay tuned . . .
