Come on Down – Insecurity Not Welcome!

This is the last post in my series of “Come on Down” as a play on words of the Price Is Right show.

What is God calling you to do today that insecurity is holding you back from following through?  Insecurity in who you are.  We all experience the “what if I’m not good enough” mentality at some time in our lives.  We are insecure in who we are.

But God made us unique.  There is no reason to be insecure in WHOSE you are.  You are the only one who can do what God is calling you to do in the way that only you can do it.  Maybe you are being called to work with foster children.  You may say “but I’m not unique in that aspect.  God has called other people to work with foster children before.  How am I different?”

Because God created you individually.  Genesis 1:27 (NIV) – God created mankind in his own image; in the image of God He created them; male and female He created them.

Ephesians 2:10 (NIV) says: For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

The Lord told Jeremiah in Jeremiah 1:5 (NIV) : “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you ; before you were born, I set you apart.”

God still does that for us, today.  Every person is individually made.  We may have some of the same talents, but He created us to use those talents and spiritual gifts differently – in a way designed only for us.

Let’s start using those gifts the way He intended us to use them.  Let’s go on our own unique journey serving God for where He is calling us to serve.  Hang insecurity up on a nail and walk away.  Step out and realize YOU ARE SPECIAL AND UNIQUE and God has called you to live for Him in a way that only you can do.

COME ON DOWN……….Insecurity left behind………blessings await ahead!

Come on Down – No Doubting Allowed!

This is the fourth post in my series of “Come on Down” as a play on words of the Price Is Right show.

It is debilitating.  It crushes you.  It keeps you from enjoying life and being all that you can be.  We are our own worst enemy but self-doubt is the enemy to success.   As I was doing research on scriptures pertaining to self-doubt, I came across this article and I thought it said it perfectly.

Watch Here

We see that Moses, too,  had self-doubt.  One of my favorite stories is found in Exodus 4, specifically Exodus 4:10-12 (NIV) where the Lord is telling Moses that he wants him to lead the Israelite out of Egypt and Moses says “I have never been eloquent in speaking.  I am slow of speech and tongue.” [paraphrased].  And the Lord answered:  “who gave man is mouth?….now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.”

As I prepare for this speaking opportunity that the Lord gave me, I keep repeating this verse over and over again.  It’s not me who is eloquent in speaking, but it is the Lord who made my mouth and will help me as I speak and use this opportunity He has given me…….that I prayed to have!!!  Self- Doubt……it’s a horrible thing!  God is here to help us.  Self-doubt comes from the devil.   James 4:7 (NIV) – Submit yourselves, then to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Remember who made you.  Remember who overcomes doubt.  Submit to Him.  Resist the self-doubt creator.

Then Come on Down and enjoy the blessings God has already prepared  for you……..the only rule – No Doubting Allowed!

Come on Down – But What If I Succeed?

This is the third post in my series of “Come on Down” as a play on words of the Price Is Right show.

Fear of success.

You may laugh at this if you haven’t experienced it.  But some people are afraid to step out of their comfort zone and try new things or do what God has called them to do because they are afraid they might succeed and then what will they do??!!

*Some people are afraid if they succeed others will be jealous and they may lose friends.
*Some people are afraid if they succeed it will move them from their comfort zone and they may have to do more and that scares them even more.
*Some people are afraid if they succeed they won’t know where to go from there.

Don’t be afraid to succeed.  God is holding your hand and He is taking you from your seat right now and leading you to do that VERY THING you are scared to do.  He is leading you to success and He will be leading you past the initial success to more blessings in the future.

When you hold God’s hand and do what you are called to do both in the small things and the big things, He’s going to be right there with you.  Quit WORRYING about the “what if’s” and EMBRACE the “what if’s”!

I want to speak to women’s groups more.  I have been praying for that opportunity, and I have just received a very big opportunity to speak to the Professional Women’s Group at my company, about “What is Your Passion?”  IT’S MY PASSION!!  Helping other people be all that they can be is one of my passions.  Random Acts of Kindness is one of my passions.  God is giving me this opportunity.  Someone heard me speak at a chamber of commerce event and wanted me to do the same talk at my company.  I prayed for this exact opportunity.  So why am I scared?  It’s exactly what I asked for – to be able to take that opportunity and speak to more people.

I’m going to take it……….. and I am going to enjoy it!!  But I am afraid and the “What if’s” keep going through my mind.  “What if people talk bad about me?”  “What if I mess up?”  “What if people think I am stupid?”  “What if I fail?”

That, my friend, is just the devil talking and I am continuing to yell at him to get away from me because today – I’m going to take the negative “what if’s” and turn them around:  “What if I can help someone find their passion?”  “What if I can help someone reach their goal?”  “What if I can help someone overcome their fear of stepping out?”

God is holding your hand and my hand and He is leading us today.  So Come On Down and enjoy the success of God’s calling.  The Price Is Right……the time is right……. to hold His hand and experience the success He has for you and for me!

Come On Down – But What If I Fail?

This is the third post in my series of “Come on Down” as a play on words of the Price Is Right show.

How many times do we not do things because we are afraid we might fail?

We have such fear of failure.  But just because something doesn’t work the exact way we intended, doesn’t mean it’s a failure.

Thomas A. Edison said:  “I have not failed.  I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”

That’s how we need to look at our lives.  We miss out on so many blessing that God has in store for us because we are afraid to step out to do what he is calling us to do because we are afraid we might fail.  If we don’t succeed the way we wish we would have, then we need to pick ourselves up and try again.

Just remember as a Christian, your desire to please God and do His will must be greater than your fear of failure.

Come on down…….The Price Is Right………to let go of “failure what ifs” and grasp “success what ifs”.  What if you succeed?  What if you realize this is what you are called to do and you missed out on wonderful blessings?!  Take a chance……if you start to fall, God will catch you!  And when you are in His arms, there is no fear of failure!
