If you are a woman reading this you know how important the right clothes are – along with the right jewelry, scarf, purse and other accessories!
If you are a man reading this, you probably just want to “be clothed” and it doesn’t really matter what colors or styles you choose and certainly there are no accessories involved!
But whether you are clothed with the NECESSITIES or the ACCESSORIES, we all need to be clothed with compassion.
Paul wrote to the Colossians and told them as God’s chosen people you are to clothe yourself with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. (Colossians 3:12). To me all of these things go together because when you are compassionate, you are kind and gentle and patient and humble.
Compassion is a great quality to possess. When you are compassionate, you show God’s love to others with genuine care and concern.
So tomorrow when you get dressed for the day, whether you are putting on a suit and tie, sweatpants, a uniform, a dress or jeans, start by clothing yourself with compassion.
(And then girls, make sure your purse matches your shoes.)
