A friend was telling me the other day that she found a special coin while she was cleaning that she had tucked away years ago. Upon further research, she discovered the coin was valuable. She had it all these years and did not know it had such value.
Sometimes I think we are the same way with our relationships. We get used to our spouse, our kids, our family and our friends. We don’t realize their value until something happens – broken relationships, accidents, tragedies. Do we even know the value of those relationships? Our life is full of joy that we don’t even know. Jesus is the same way. He adds such value to our lives and sometimes we forget. Sometimes we don’t even know what we have until we get so far away that He has to remind us and bring us back to Him.
Do you think Mary knew? Do you think she really could grasp at such a young age the awesomeness of her baby and who He really was? Listen to the words of the song, Mary Did You Know. Really listen. Grasp the awesomeness of the Son for whom she was chosen to be the mother. And then when it’s finished, think about your relationships today.
Do we even know how blessed we are to have people in our lives that God has placed there to bring joy and great relationship? Whatever the issue with your relationship today, give it to God. Let Him handle it. Just forgive and love and let Him do the rest to restore it !
John 10:27 (NIV) – ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.'”
