I did it.
It may not seem like a big deal to most people.
And 5 months ago I didn’t even take this as a challenge. It was the easy route.
But yesterday, on my 59th birthday, as silly as it sounds, I stood at the start of the Bilby Loop and said, “let’s do this.”
It wasn’t as hard as I thought. My almost-healed ankle did pretty well. My mind says I can walk those 4 loops at the trails with no problem but the weak muscles in the ankle reminds me to take it slow.
I did it scared and they (whoever they are) say to do one thing scared every day.
So I got out of my car, walked to the beginning of that blacktop, took a deep breath and did it.
I breathed in the fresh air.
I enjoyed the beautiful lake with a little chill still glazing over it.
I listened to the sounds of nature and when I rounded that last little curve about only 3 minutes later (hahaha), I wanted to put my hands up in victory!
Life can be like that silly little loop.
We fear something that really isn’t bad at all.
We don’t step out to do what God calls us to do because we have fear we might struggle or not do it with perfection.
But I say do it!
Look at that path ahead and ask God to help you get to the next level.
Reach those goals.
Take that scary step.
Believe in yourself.
You can do it.
And when you do, don’t be afraid to raise your hands in victory!
But keep an eye out because you never know…..while your hands are in the air, I may just come strolling by and slap you a celebratory high five!
