I love seeing footprints in the freshly-fallen snow. The other day I realized we had a tiny little creature visiting us from the woods as I followed the rabbit footprints in the snow.
Footprints are created by footsteps that provide a path to a destination. I love when the kids were little and I would walk across the snow and then watch them try to follow me in the footprints. We even had Santa leave suet footprints on the ground one Christmas Eve so our girls could follow the footsteps to find their gifts on Christmas morning. When you don’t know where to go, it’s nice to have something to guide your footsteps.
The great news is that we have SOMEONE who has prepared the path for us in our lives. God has a big plan for us. Sometimes we get off course and our path doesn’t follow His. But Paul tells us in Romans 8:28 that God uses all things for the good of those who love Him. Meaning that even if we get off course and suffer the consequences of our earthly decisions, God will find a way to use it for good as we go along the path of our lives. Nothing we do is wasted in God’s plan – but suffering the earthly consequence of our ungodly decisions is much worse than if we would have stayed on the path and followed in HIS footsteps.
So put on your favorite shoes and get ready for the walk of your life – one footstep at a time.
How inspiring! I have my walkin’ shoes on. 🙂
