Some of you may have been in church services where the pastor or worship leader says, “God is good” and the congregation responds with “All the time”. Then the leader says, “All the time” and the congregations responds “God is good.”
I’ve done this exercise and many times we say “God is good all the time” but do we really believe it? Do we really think that He is with us when we suffer? Do we think maybe He is punishing us for something?
I believe God allows us to suffer to draw us closer to Him. I believe that He lets us experience the consequences of our earthly choices. BUT I believe He loves us more than we can even begin to comprehend.
God cares about us so much and knows so much about us that He even knows the number of hairs on our head. (For some people it’s easier to remember! hahaha) Matthew 10:30 -31- And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.”
Exodus 14:14 – The Lord will fight for you. You need only be still.
Proverbs 3:5 – Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.
God demonstrates His own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 8:8.
And the one we know by heart – John 3:16 – For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
There is no greater way to explain God’s love for us than that He allowed His own child to be beaten and killed for us low-life sinners. He loves us so much that even though we have done so much wrong and turned away from Him, He wants us back. He wants us in heaven with Him forever. We just have to accept it. We have to believe and put down our stubborn ways and say “I can’t do it on my own. I need you God.” I have to do it daily.
But I believe His word and I know He’ll be there ………….because He is Good……All The Time!
