How many times have you asked that question of your kids or your spouse?
Dirty socks in the middle of the floor. How hard is it?
Dirty glass in the sink instead of the dishwasher. How hard is it?
Coat laying on the dryer instead of hung on the coat rack. How hard is it?
I’ve tested it.
Pick up socks. One thousand one. One thousand two. In the hamper.
Pick up dirty glass. One thousand one. In the dishwasher.
Pick up coat. One thousand one. One thousand two. On the coat rack.
It’s not hard. But why don’t they do it?
That’s what God probably says to us. “I give them two things to do. Love me with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself. How hard is it?”
I think He’s right. We get so angry over the smallest things that won’t make a difference in the long run but we don’t get it right with the two simple things God gives us to do.
How hard is it? Hard. But nothing is impossible with God.
