“Good Morning. You’re up early.”
” Yes. Thought I would get up and try again today.”
I overhead this conversation in a hotel lobby while eating breakfast. It made me smile. But I thought it could be my conversation with God, frankly.
Thought I would get up and try again today.
What a powerful sentence. How many times do we wake up and dread getting out of bed? Dread going to our jobs? Or dread facing the problems and issues of the day?
Sometimes we think we just can’t do it. You know, try again today.
But we can. It’s a new day. A new set of 24 hours. A fresh start. Your heart’s still beating. Your lungs are still breathing. It’s another chance.
I’m not going to look at all the things I have on my to-do list today. I’m not going to remind myself of all the worries in my life. I’m not going to let the heaviness of this world weigh me down today. Nope. I’m going to get up and try again today.
I know that every day I will sin and every day I will be concerned about something. But today I will try to do better. Today I will try to love more like Jesus. Today I will send every negative thought packing. Today I will trust God has it all under control. Today I will pray more and worry less.
Yes…today is a good day to get up and try again. Who’s with me?
