What’s wrong? We ask this question of people a lot.
We ask it when people seem sad or agitated. We ask it sometimes when we know the answer and other times when we don’t. We ask because we care or maybe feel obligated.
We wait for the answer and wonder if it’s an emotional issue that’s bothering the person or a physical issue. Can we help them in any way? Do we WANT to help them in any way?
Sometimes the answer is closed: “nothing’s wrong. Everything’s fine.”
Sometimes the answer is vague. Sometimes it opens the flood gates and the person unloads all their problems.
There is someone who is asking that question right now of you. He wants to know all of your problems. He’s asking but He really already knows. He wants you to tell Him anyway. He doesn’t want you to stay closed. He doesn’t want a vague answer. He wants you to open the flood gates and tell Him everything.
He wants to take all that is wrong and make it right. His name is Jesus.
These words from Lauren Daigel’s song, “Oh Lord” are perfect to help us remember Jesus wants to take all that’s wrong and make it right.
Oh, O’Lord O’Lord I know You hear my cry
Your love is lifting me above all the lies
No matter what I face this I know in time
You’ll take all that is wrong and make it right
You’ll take all that is wrong and make it right
Won’t you tell Him what’s wrong today and let Him make it right?
