I was teasing a friend the other day about how she acted just like her 90-year-old mother who she teases about being silly all the time. I said “you are your mother’s daughter.” The same evening we were visiting my husband’s dad and I was reminded how much my husband and his dad look alike and thought “you are your father’s son”.
This made me think about Genesis 1:27 – So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
We are made in God’s image. Somehow he has features combined by all gazillion of us on this earth.
As we live our lives, are we living the Christian life to show others that we were created in the image of our Heavenly Father? When someone meets us, can they say “You are your Father’s daughter” or “You are your Father’s son” meaning the Heavenly Father – meaning that they can see Jesus in the way we live our lives?
I want people to know by my actions that I am a daughter of the King. We need to work to show others what Jesus looks like by showing them the fruits of the Spirit – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness and self-control. (Galatians 5:22).
I’m not sure God has gray hair, double chin and dimples, but I do know I want to look like Him in the way I live my life. I want someone to say – “you are your Father’s daughter.” What can YOU do today to show you are a child of the King?
