I have to admit it…….I am getting older!!  It’s inevitable.  I was so excited to be healthy with minimal issues…..and then I hit my 40’s.  Two shoulder surgeries, unwanted pounds, reading glasses spread all over the house and planter fasciitis in my foot.

I fought and fought that foot issue.  I stretched each morning.  I took anti-inflammatory drugs.  I used essential oils, tried chiropractic care and massage therapy.  It all would help for a bit and then the pain would return.  It went from planter fasciitis to tendonitis on the side of my foot!  Six weeks of physical therapy and I was back on track.  FOR A FEW WEEKS……then there it was again.  The foot doctor said I needed “orthodics”.  I said “I am way too young for something called orthodics.  That’s for old people.”

Well……..I gave in, got the custom INSOLES (as I choose to refer to them) and my foot is much better – almost zero pain when I walk now.  But I have to continue to wear the insoles to support the high arch in my foot and ward off pain.

What did I do?  I finally gave in and admitted that I couldn’t do it on my own.   I needed the support of the insoles.  When I choose to go without them, I go right back to the pain and realize I can’t do it on my own.

It’s how the Christian walk is.  We try and try it our way.  We do things on our own and don’t listen to what the Bible says or do what God tells us is right.  We just keep limping through life going through pains that we don’t have to.  We just have to admit that God’s way is best.  He is waiting for  us to come to Him and let Him help us.  Give in.  Get support and walk better.  To walk with Christ is freedom.  Matthew 11:28 says,  “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest.”

Just Admit It!  And get a some support from the One who knows best!
