I can’t go through the ABC’s of life’s journey without praising God for the “B” in my life……..Bucket Buddies Mission.

As I was reading my Bible, I came across the verses in 2 Corinthians 9 that I had marked with the words “Bucket Buddies Mission” next to them.  2 Corinthians 9:7 says “Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”

I wanted to start this non-profit to show God’s love to children who were suffering from cancer just as my sister had suffered.  God placed this desire in my heart.  I feel like I complied with the scripture above “giving what I had decided in my heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion” but with great love and careful consideration through prayer as well as acting on God’s leading.

Then God just kept on blessing the mission as is stated in verse 11:  “You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.”

God continued to bless our mission through numerous donations and opportunities which in turn allowed us to be generous with those donations to be able to share with children who were suffering from life-threatening illnesses.  When we had these opportunities, it absolutely resulted in thanksgiving to God.

Verse 12 states that “this service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.”  That is where our mission statement comes from:   “To make a difference to children suffering from cancer and other life threatening illnesses by showing the love of Christ through providing gift buckets of kindness to patients.”

Verse 13 just puts the icing on the cake:  “Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, men will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else.”  We love sharing the gift buckets with children and we have had feedback thanking us for being the “hands and feet of Christ”.  We praise God for the opportunity to be used by Him to make a difference to others.

And ending with verse 15:  Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!

We cannot thank God enough for his indescribable gift of blessings; for how He has worked in this mission as well as in our lives and hopefully in the lives of those we touch through our giving as we try to make a difference in a very small way to a child who suffers with an illness.

I will forever BE grateful to Him for Bucket Buddies Mission.  B is not only for Bucket Buddies……..but for Blessings from Bucket Buddies!!
