Each day I look at the weather forecast to make sure I am dressing for the predicted weather.  Do I need a jacket?  Gloves? Umbrella? Snow boots?

I look at my schedule to make sure I am prepared for the day.  Do I need to wear a suit for a special meeting?  Do I need to take my lunch?  Do I have all I need for my appointment after work?

We look ahead to see what we need to have with us to be as prepared as possible for the day.  But what about spiritual preparedness.  Ephesians 6:14-17 tells us what we need to do to be prepared each day to take our stand against the devil’s schemes.   We need to put on a whole suit of armor:  belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, feet fitted with readiness from the gospel, shield of faith, helmet of salvation,  and sword of the Spirit.

Every day, every minute, the devil is looking for ways to scheme against us.  Ephesians 6:12 tells us that our struggle isn’t really against PEOPLE but rather against the darkness and evil (sin and the devil).  So there is no umbrella or snow boot that can protect against those things.  Only prayer, Bible study and faith in God.

As we prepare for our day and we decide what we need to wear or what we need to take for the journey, let’s not forget to get all “armored” up.  Nothing shows we’re ready for a busy day like a suit of armor!
