Happy New Year!

A new year brings opportunities for resolutions or goals or starting a bucket list.

Blah, blah, blah…..scoff, laugh, puke.

I imagine some of you are rolling your eyes and laughing at just the thought of resolutions and goals and bucket lists as well as those who get sucked into them.

And that’s okay.

However, don’t make fun of ME because I am one of those annoying people who loves to set goals, resolutions and update my Bucket List. ???? I am always looking for new adventures for the upcoming year.

As I started out my January 1st morning reflecting, I realized I have a lot of opportunities for goals this upcoming year – several of which were gifts from family and friends. I have a “Read the Bible Through in a Year” journal; “52 Letters for a Year of Gratitude” binder; “Everyday’s a Holiday” calendar; “The Weekly Prayer Project”; as well as the tattered and worn “Jesus Calling” devotional.

Sitting in the corner of my living room is a small trunk holding Christmas cards and sympathy cards we received this year with my intentions to select a card a day and PRAY for that family.

That’s a few of the things I want to accomplish this year. Of course, it doesn’t include the old-faithful “weight loss, exercise more and be a better person” goals.

OOOOHHHHH ….. and I also want to focus more on my speaking and writing ministry and make a difference to others each day.

WHEW! That is probably way more than I can handle. But I love setting goals and working towards something productive each day of the year.

I may not reach every goal and may break a resolution here and there but the great thing is that I can start over. They’re my goals. My resolutions.

Whether you are a “resolution maker” or a “resolution resister”, one thing is for sure – God has a year full of adventure just waiting for us. I can’t wait to see how it all plays out.

So….what about you? Do you set goals or make resolutions? If so, feel free to share one of yours below for 2019. I would love to hear about your upcoming “adventures”.

And if not, then just talk under your breath and keep on smiling! ????

Happy 2019!!
