It’s county fair time and fond memories of the “tilt-a-whirl” ride comes to mind!  I loved that ride.  We would get in the red half-circle cart with our friends and pull the bar down over our lap.  We felt like we were peas in the pod.  Then slowly the ride would move up and down as ocean waves.  Then it would start turning in complete circles and go faster and faster.  You would be dizzy and screaming and laughing all at the same time!

Reminds me of my life lately!!  I woke up in the wee hours of the morning with so many things on my mind I couldn’t sleep.  The Natalie Grant concert tickets aren’t selling as quickly as I had hoped.  My daughter leaves for Colorado today.  We have a couple of weddings coming up – one of which my older daughter is a bridesmaid.  I have a conference in NC soon and some bucket deliveries in the next few weeks I am coordinating in conjunction with some vacation time.  My mind was swarming as if I was on the tilt-a-whirl ride!

Then God gently spoke to me and gave me Philippians 4:6-7 – do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

He’s got it covered.  Instead of being anxious, I should be thankful!!  I started remembering how God worked out Natalie Grant coming to Greensburg.  How He laid it all in place; how He placed that desire and that nagging presence in my heart to ask her to come here and how against all odds, it happened and she is bringing her worship and talents to our town!!  It was only through God that all the pieces of the puzzle came together.  I will NOT let the devil ruin that for me or cause me to forget all the powerful things God did to get her to come here.

I am thankful for the opportunities to attend conferences and for the way God has grown our bucket ministry and for the jobs that we have to be able to go on vacations and attend conferences.  I am thankful for friends and for weddings and that my daughter has ministry opportunities that correlate with sporting events that she loves.

I’m thankful for a wonderful husband and daughters and the opportunities that twirl around in my head and make me dizzy and crazy and laugh and scream all at the same time.  For it is when we are spinning on the tilt-a-whirl of life that we need God the most to remind us not to be anxious about ANYTHING!

Day #4 – Thankful Journey – I am thankful for all of the opportunities God gives me in this life.

Day #4 – Kindness Journey – Let someone know how special they are to you today with a call, a hug or a card.
